Shattered Man Standing
Shattered here I stand
And therein lies the glory
The mere fact that I yet stand
Is a Testament to Truth
The spell has ended
No longer am I mesmerized
Blue moons will no longer haunt me
I walk underneath silver stars
I find myself to be broken
Much to my surprise, the breaks are not new
I have broken many times before
Yet never did I notice
Someone, somewhere had been tending to me
Repairing my fractures with nary a mark
I never realized so much had been broken
I never knew I was a shattered man standing
But now I see
Now I know, my perfection was an illusion
My glory was not my own
Only by the brightness of Him was my own shadow hidden
The twin blue moons no longer send their cold light
I have fled far from them, and they fled from me
A moment of intersection, a moment when worlds collide
And swiftly the worlds parted
Why do you abandon me?
Thank God I abandoned thee
for to follow into shadow and peril
Whilst led by a false light...
Twin Blue Moons pass
Morning will come one hour soon
Yet still the night is dark
But take comfort in the silver stars shining
And look at the scars, shattered one
And realize your imperfections
My strengths are not Your joy
My weaknesses are where You work
A sword, battered and notched
lies in the dust at my feet
Once polished and new, it is now worn
Yet the blade of truth gleams bright
Interesting.
Make of it, what you will.
Make of it
What You Will
