Greetings Human Being

Year two thousand and two redeemed, September Tenth.
Seven o' clock in the evening
Forty-six minutes past the hour
Fifty-one seconds, Eastern Daylight Time

Greetings human being six billion
Two hundred forty-nine million
Two hundred ninety-nine thousand
Two hundred and eighty-one

Welcome to the Planet!
We're really quite glad to see you arrive,
For you, you must understand,
Are another drop in an overwhelming sea

Certainly you are unique, crafted carefully
Made just to order and delivered within nine months
There're even two signatures on your order form
Though perhaps they didn't sign it very, um, consciously

Dear human being six billion and then some,
There's one small "issue" you should be aware of,
You really weren't expected today
Their doctor said you'd be born next Monday

No matter though. On to the ground rules!
Here they are, just delivered, excellent, grand
Well, you get one (1) body for your personal usage
For the duration of your stay here on the planet

No, it isn't immortal. Not the body, dear me, no.
That model was phased out ages ago!
Something about a snake and a tree,
No, I'd rather not go into the details, don't ask me.

Ah yes, the soul, your very own you
That you've been since He made you be
Saying the Word as only the Word can
Yes, that's permanent, no, no refunds

Ah, well, there's much more to cover, but not by me,
Here are your instructors for the next score years,
Yes, that's one, the tall bearded one crying
And - excellent intuition -- the other is the fair lady smiling

Right, all set, there you go
They've got you in their arms now
Remember: nothing on this planet is for keeps
Except what's written on your soul

Yes, you can always call your Creator
Yes, the call's even toll-free
Right, a moment of silence and prayer,
And He'll be right there to help

Be Good.
Enjoy your time here.
Take care now! Ta-ta.
Ah, look, there's my next assignment,

Greetings human being six billion
Two hundred forty nine million
Three hundred and one thousand
Five hundred and twenty-eight
