The Words in the Eyes

Who are you there?
Whose eyes do I look into?
Do I truly know you?
Never have I seen your soul

A mystery you are to me.
Incalculable, unpredictable.
More human than machine.
A puzzle I cannot piece together.

Who could have ever created such a creature
So strange in all its ways
Yet so graceful and fair
And why do I look into your eyes?

By what means have you snared me?
What trap have I fallen into?
Am I lost forever to mortal lands?
Shall I see the light of the sun again?

Ah, but then, you see, you smile
And you smile not only with your lips
But you smile with your eyes
This smile, of the eyes, lifts me up

You are my comfort
You are my support
You are my fellow traveler
You are my love, dearest

Such wonders are not for mortal men
Yet the Divine has granted one to me
Here upon the Fallen World Redeemed
A mortal man, a fair maiden, love
