Rediscovering Duality
hey baby i woke up
and thought of you
i could feel your lips
kissing me
yet you were far away
the sweetness of memory
the sweetness of being
the sweetness of knowing you
i remember i looked into your eyes
and there, in their crystal pools
of dark and light, brown and green
i saw myself, laid bare, honest and true
a strange feeling grips my soul
when i look at you
i caress your hair, running through
feeling so glad to have you there
merely to hold you close,
to smell your scent
to know you are there
to taste and rejoice in reality
this is the utmost of joys
your eyes sparkle playfully
your kisses dance upon my face
and i return the favors
such bliss never have i felt
such joy never has enfolded me
such a gift and blessing it is
to know you this special way
yet the most wonderful part
is that this companionship
friendship and relationship
goes far beyond that which is seen
there is a fundamental resonance
a click, a glow, a shine
when we are together
that i cannot reproduce nor understand
a mystery i cannot decipher
but can merely accept and glorify
the fundamentals of attraction
do not reduce to an equation
so yeah
hey baby
i thought of you
and all that we are and might be
i close this poem
with a prayer
that Jesus continue
to guide us in all our ways
