Human Dust Alive
Human Dust Alive is my second anthology of poetry and prayer, the sequel to Return to the Path. The poems and prayers within were written at irregular intervals throughout 2000 and 2001. Much like with Return to the Path, I found that they came almost randomly -- except for the fact that they always came when I needed them, offering me solace and comfort. Once again, I don't feel that it is my part to claim full authorship, for without the Holy Spirit, none of this would have been written. I place this collection on dominik.net in the hopes that it may aid my fellow living dust... Feel free to link to the poems freely, but please contact me before copying/reprinting them.
With that said, the poems and prayers are available below, accompanied with a short thought about the origin of the poem -- or what I think it means to me.
- An Introduction - A few words serving as foreword to this anthology; also, the dedication of the anthology.
- Justice - I wrote this poem after facing an injustice that I did not understand nor comprehend...
- Faith - ... and immediately afterwards wrote this poem, resolving to stand firm and believe. Curiously, in the end things turned out much better than I could have possibly imagined...
- A Prayer for Forgiveness - Ah, if only this flesh did not oppose the will of the spirit...
- A Prayer for Focus - Too often does my mind wander from the task at hand...
- A Prayer of Thanks for Trials - As hard as it is to admit, I am strengthened by my sorrows and tested true by my trials.
- A Prayer for Humility - We are but stewards living in time that is a present.
- A Prayer for Guidance - A favorite saying of mine: "God knows what He's doing. We don't, though."
- When Noble Heart Does Noble Deed - Just as soon as things start to look up, just as soon as things begin to go good, right at the moment when you're about to take off and fly...
- Fragile Hearts - A poem written to the love of my life.
- Freedom of Truth by Love - The Lord sets all aright.
- Have Faith, Friend (Heart Sorrow Cure) - After a long conversation with a friend, this poem wrote itself, presenting the comfort of Hope...
- Human Dust Alive - Oh, how I long to know where my life will lead -- but I must be patient, and above all I must Trust.
